Marlton Dust Bunnies Preview

Brian Hirsh playing for the Marlton Deer in 2011

Captain Kevin Nerney loves to vacuum. It’s always been one of his passions. Between his 3 vacuums at home, two swiffers, and roomba that he named Mini-Kevin, Nerney knew that he had to name his new EBHL franchise the Dust Bunnies. It only made sense that Brian Hirsh, who once briefly considered selling vacuums as a hobby, would pair up with Nerney. Hirsh and Nerney have both come out of retirement to start the Dust Bunnies franchise and expect nothing short of greatness.

The Dust Bunnies are a bunch of former ball hockey legends who are returning to the dek. Nearly every player in the Dust Bunnies franchise played tournament street hockey for the Marlton Chiefs or played ice hockey at a high level. The skill is there, its just a question of if this brand new team can step up and play well against players who have been teammates for years. The Dust Bunnies are confident that they can compete.

We do not know much about this team beyond that. We know that they have passion and pink jerseys. We know that Kevin Nerney is an elite captain. We know they are here to have fun and win some games while doing it. We know that these guys are excited to play. The Dust Bunnies start their season in a Sunday night show down versus the South Jersey Majestics @ 8PM. The whole league will be watching to see what these bunnies bring to the table.
