New Jersey Force Preview

Captain Tim Myers is a ball hockey vet. Myers, along with Chris Caplan, have put together a Force team that will be a physical test for every team in the league. This team has a mix of young and veteran players who will play smart hockey every game. This is the first season the Force will be competing in the EBHL.

Chris Buchman and Shaun Dowdy will be two of the biggest offensive threats this team has. Dowdy and Buchman both play for Jersey Fresh at the Mens A level and are two of their go to players. Buchman has one of the best shots/releases in the entire EBHL and has had his shot clocked at 111 MPH. That is not a joke, he really shoots that hard. Gus Gittinger will be a player to look out for this season. After winning MVP of the North American Ball Hockey Championships Novice Division in March, Gus is coming into the season confident and looking to build on his recent success.

Scott Powell and Jim Gauntt will be reliable offensive players for the Force. Gauntt and Powell have played together for three straight seasons in the EBHL and have magical chemistry. Tim Myers is an elite defensive presence who has one of the heaviest shots you'll see from the point. The Force's powerplay unit is expected to be one of the best in the league. Joe Washart is also on the Force, and we have no idea how he will contribute to this squad.

With Dan Cohen and Bill "Moose" Thomas in net, the Force have the most reliable goaltending tandem in the league. Both Cohen and Moose are veteran goaltenders who have been around the game a long time. With two goalies splitting time and a deep roster, the Force are a team that looks to make a run for the EBHL championship in 2019.
