South Jersey Best Friends Preview

Best Friends D-man MJ Quillen playing for the EBHL's Dump N Chase in 2017

Conor Gibbons and Cody Wright are best friends. Chris Aberg, Brett Starr, and Zach Sawyer are best friends. Marty Bell and Steve Cader are best friends. This group of friends is just filled with love for each other. The Best Friends are a combination of players from Marlton and Maple Shade who absolutely love being in each others company. The team name spoke for itself, and their play on the EBHL dek will do the same.

MJ Quillen will be one of the leaders on defense for the Best Friends. This is Quillens fifth EBHL season and his fifth EBHL team. Quillen has suited up for the Tribe, Ghost Bears, Dump and Chase, Dead Rabbits, and now will suit up for the Best Friends. Although no trades are allowed in the EBHL, if someone were to somehow get traded it would probably be Quillen. Forward Max Redner is a player looking for redemption in 2019. The self deemed "Hottest player in the circuit 2017" looks to re-claim his title after a very ugly 2018.

The Best Friends are expected to be one of the funniest teams in the league. They have a sense of humor that appeals to people of all ages, from infants to great grandparents pushing 100 years old. The least funny player on the team is Cody Wright. Cody hosts an open mic night at Flying W that is almost always a disaster. His sense of humor is impossible to understand and no one really enjoys listening to his jokes. He does have fantastic hair which seems to help him, though.

The Best Friends consist of mostly EBHL newcomers. Only Quillen, Wright, and Gibbons have some sort of EBHL experience. The lack of experience in the EBHL does not matter at all though, because all of these players have played ball hockey for years. The talent is there, and if the team can get solid goaltending from Jesse Hamilton, the Best Friends can be a team that wins a lot of games.
